These turtles nest in the Nansei and Ogasawara islands. Adults mainly feed on sea grasses, sea weed and algae. Juveniles will hunt marine invertebrates. The greenish color in the turtles comes from fat reserves under the skin. Adults can reach 1.3 meters.
